Lisa Ann Conti, D.V.M., M.P.H., Diplomate ACVPM, CPM, AVES (Hon)

Dr. Conti serves as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Science Officer of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, overseeing divisions of Food Safety, Agriculture Environmental Services, Aquaculture, Animal Industry and Plant Industry. Prior appointments at Florida Department of Health were Division Director of Environmental Health, State Public Health Veterinarian and State HIV/AIDS Surveillance Coordinator. She authored or co-authored numerous journal articles on One Health, public health, HIV/AIDS surveillance, vector-borne and zoonotic disease topics. She is Coeditor of two books: Human-Animal Medicine: Clinical Approaches to Zoonoses, Toxicants and Other Shared Health Risks, and Confronting Emerging Zoonoses: The One Health Paradigm.

Shelley C. Rankin, Ph.D.

Shelley Rankin is a clinical microbiologist and Head of Diagnostic Services at the Matthew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her PhD in Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. She has authored more than 80 peer reviewed publications and book chapters and her research focus is antimicrobial resistant pathogens of animals and humans and the transfer of these organisms across species. Her most recent research has centered on the molecular epidemiology of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus species and multiple drug resistant E. coli. She is an AAVMC One Health Scholar.

John Berg, D.V.M., M.S., Diplomate D.A.C.V.S.

Dr. Berg is a 1981 graduate of Colorado State University. Following his internship and surgical residency, he spent a year in referral practice, and joined the faculty at Tufts University in 1987. He is a soft tissue surgeon with a special interest in surgical oncology. He has twice received the Pfizer Distinguished Teaching Award, as well as several other teaching awards. Dr. Berg served as the Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences at Tufts from 1998 until 2011. He is an ACVS Founding Fellow in Surgical Oncology and an honorary member of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology.
